For Sale: 1937 Ford Deluxe in Stanley, Wisconsin for sale in Stanley, WI

1 of 50
Vehicle Description Rare 1937 Ford Series 78 Deluxe Convertible Sedan, one of 4,378 produced for 1937.
Unlike the Phaeton Convertible Sedan, this one had roll up windows to protect the passengers from inclement weather while out motoring.
The 1937 Ford featured a more rounded look with fine horizontal bars in the convex front and hood-side grilles.
The front grille was V-shaped, rather than following the fenders into a pentagon shape, as on the 1936 model.
Faired-in headlights installed in the front fenders were a major modernization found on both the Standard and DeLuxe trim versions, and the introduction of an all steel top for the passenger compartment.
The Standard could be distinguished from the DeLuxe by the body color radiator grilles and windshield frames while the DeLuxe had walnut woodgrain window moldings and exterior trim brightwork, and a woodgrain finish applied to the interior window trim.
A larger water pump was used to help aid in cooling.
A 4-door convertible sedan with roll up windows was offered in small numbers in the DeLuxe series.
Under collector care for over 50 years, this beautiful example represents an older restoration that still shows extremely well.
Interior, engine bay, undercarriage and convertible top are all in excellent condition, while the paint has some blemishes where a refreshing was begun but not finished.
We have not attempted any paint correction but feel that some improvements could be made without having to repaint the car, if one just wanted to enjoy her the way she is now.
The car starts, runs, drives, and stops very nice.
The tires will need to be replaced as they are old and starting to bubble.
We have put close to 30 miles on her over the past week or so and what a blast! New battery and many recent services over the past few months after a lengthy storage period.
Many agree that the '37 Ford was one of the most attractive cars from that decade, including President FDR who purchased one of these convertible sedans for use at his summer retreat.
